Faithful to our origins and to the quality of our products, in 2017 all our farms were accredited with the Animal Welfare AENOR Conform Certificate. This is how we became pioneers in the food sector having all our farms certified with Animal Welfare. In Casa Tarradellas we comply all standards of this certification that stand for animal and land respect, sustainability and the continuity of livestock and farm activity in the territory today and tomorrow.
From our origins in an agricultural and livestock environment, our priorities have always been related to quality and animal welfare, and our best credential is the fidelity with which consumers have rewarded us. In Casa Tarradellas, we believe a clear stake in favor of responsibility is the formula to make the best quality products. We assume this European Certificate for Animal Welfare also as a recognition to a good job we have made throughout more than 40 years of history always focusing on the care and welfare of our animals.
In 2012, in Casa Tarradellas, we started up a pioneer project in the food sector to recover and reuse PET plastic cuts generated during the packing process of our products. We established our own plastic restoration and recycling plant just next to our production centers.
In the recycling plant, we put together all waste plastic cuts and once cleaned and sterilized, they go through a co-extrusion process and are used to pack new products and promote a circular use of this material.
We work every day for the reduction of plastic volume and the reutilization of these materials.
In Casa Tarradellas, we make great efforts to reduce our energetic consumption and to use reusable sources in order to be an energetically responsible company.
Thanks to the installation of solar panels, today we have a surface of 200.000m2 equipped to provide solar energy.
Thanks to the bet of the company to have solar panels in all its facilities, today our head offices are 100% photovoltaic self-supplied and every year we generate more energy from renewable sources with the objective of providing responsible supplies to all our working centers.
Moreover, climate control systems in our farms use energy from our solar panels and biomass we obtain thanks to nearby forestry.
